Find Me A Tradesperson is owned by me (Alison Wilmot) since 2004.

Anyone who has spoken to me will know that Find Me A Tradesperson was born out of frustration! Frustration at not being able to find reliable trade’s people who – to put it bluntly – weren’t going to rip me off!

But I knew that I needed my service to be different to really offer peace of mind and security. Anyone can create a directory of tradespeople – Yell.com has been doing it quite successfully for years! No, I wanted to create a recommendation service with a stamp of approval, so that every person who used my site to find someone was going to get an FMTP approved person to do their job.

I also wanted to support local tradespeople and create a space in which they wanted to promote themselves. A space where they had to be, because if they weren’t, they would miss out on so many great opportunities.

And that is what I have created – for you and our tradespeople.

It’s really important for me to know each of our tradespeople, check out their work and check out their references – how can I recommend them to you if I don’t? It’s a ‘no-brainer’.

And our selection process is rigorous – I’m no push over! If a tradesperson wants to work with me (and you!), they have to jump through a few hoops: face to face interviews; references checks from previous customers, insurance certificates; and proof of professional trade memberships such as National Gas Safety or NICEIC.

No other company takes your needs so seriously.
