"Yate Customers Be Aware"

The warning has come from South Gloucestershire Council's trading standards officers after a recent rise in complaints about cold callers. Gangs have knocked on the doors of people, especially the elderly, claiming their homes have roofing or structural problems which need urgent attention. Others offer gardening or home maintenance services. But investigations by trading standards officers have revealed that not only is the work of a poor standard but it was also not necessary.
Its so important not to use door stop callers whether they are offering to cut your trees or tarmac a drive. You do not know who you are inviting into your home (having my parents burgled when I was a kid by the window cleaner taught us a valuable lesson) - lets just say I am very careful now I am an adult!
Tradespeople should come by recommendation when ever possible and always get a couple of quotes so you know that the cost is an accurate reflection of the job required. If ever you need to talk through a job with me first before you contact a tradesperson then please give me a call.
