"Time for a garden tidy up"

Bin the plants that have flourished and only last one season - ideally throw them on the compost heap!Plants which come back year after year will need to be cut back.
It's a good idea to hang on to the label that comes with the plant for care instructions, as some perennials like to be cut down to the ground and others need a bit of growth left.
Don't neglect your lawn, rake it over and feed it with lawn fertiliser.
Check fences and walls for signs of wear and tear and replace if necessary.
Don't leave your garden furniture to the elements - cover it over and ideally store it away in a shed or garage.
If you have a pond cover it over sensibly so the leaves will not fall in and block it, ensure though the fish are able to breath, tip when it is cold enough to freeze over place a tennis ball into the water once the pond has frozen over remove the ball so the fish can breath!
